Winter 2023
The New Year starts strong
Happy February!
If you’re receiving this email, you’ve signed up to receive quarterly updates from USMMA OCF. We respect your time and won’t flood you with emails, but we also want you to know what’s happening with this ministry.
Thank you for joining us!
White Sulphur Springs, Part II
In mid-January, forty-three midshipmen from USMMA attended OCF’s White Sulphur Springs retreat with cadets from the Coast Guard Academy. As always, WSS was a wonderful host. Students sat under Biblical teaching, strengthened their fellowship with Christians at other academies, and once again enjoyed the beautiful landscape of central Pennsylvania. In addition, two KP alumni from the class of 2020 volunteered as weekend warriors, ministering to the midshipmen along the way.
The video below was created by one of the plebes who attended:
As in October, the USMMA OCF fund helped subsidize the cost of the retreat. We believe supporting the midshipmen and chaplain at USMMA, even in such a small way, fulfills our vision: to raise up powerful believers within the USMMA community who will minister effectively in both military and civilian spheres, in the US and around the world, for the glory of God.
At the same time, we never lose sight of our ultimate goal for this project: to provide USMMA with a local, fully-funded, full-time OCF field staff representative, able to support the students and chaplain at USMMA with Biblical fellowship, Christlike service, and everything they need to equip them for leading lives devoted to God.
We believe this retreat at WSS was just another small step toward that future! Thank you for your help.
Prayer Requests
Pray for the midshipmen! From the USMMA chaplain: “Pray for continued growth from the retreat. It seems like God did some really good work in folks and I am praying God continues to use this time for a deepening in their faith.”
Pray for God to provide. Raising up an OCF field staff representative is no small thing. But God is the first in line to care for the midshipmen at USMMA, so we trust Him to make possible all that He’s called us to do.
Thank God for His work! The WSS retreats are brief and few, but they can be powerful moments in midshipmen’s lives. Thank God for allowing those who attended to do so.
Thank you!
For Christians at USMMA, the new year has already arrived with godly encouragement, Christlike love, and Biblical teaching. Thank you for helping us take these small experiences and turning them into a year-round reality!
One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.
Psalm 27:4 (ESV)

Great video, so good to see God’s beautiful creation and gift in the place and the people.
Liam, Great update and praise the LORD for the growing group of KP Alumni who will bring this Godly vision to fruition.
